You’ll Love This Easy Mango Cherry Banana Nice Cream
I’m keeping this short and sweet to tell you about this deliciously easy Mango Cherry Banana Nice Cream, because my bowl is ready to enjoy.
The recipe is short and the results are yummily sweet and so cooling on a hot summer day.
Cutting a Mango
We’ve rediscovered mangoes around our house, and they seem to be even better than I remember.
Not sure if that’s even possible. And now that we’ve got the cutting down, it’s so much easier to access all the tasty insides.
But you got to know how to cut the mango.
The mango pit is actually flat and round. Once we realized it was shaped more like tongue, it was so much easier to cut and get the maximum amount of mango flesh for recipes like this nice cream.
If you’ve never cut a mango, check out this Mango-Cutting video by Jane and Ann Esselstyn. They’re hilarious, but they also do a great job of explaining how to cut a mango.
A deliciously healthy dessert with no refined sugar and no guilt.
- 2 Cups Mango (frozen) (or 1 mango with skin and pit removed, then diced and frozen)
- 1 Banana (frozen)
- 8-9 Dark Cherries (pitted and frozen)
- 1/8 Cup Nut Milk (or fresh juice or water)
- 2 Dates (pits removed)
-
Put all your ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth.
-
Serve immediately
- Add nut milk for additional creaminess and fluid is need to get the blender blending.
- Add the pitted dates if you would like a little more sweetness.
Possibilities
When fresh dark cherries are in season, they don’t last long at our house, so the frozen, pitted cherries we can get a the local grocery store works best for us. Of course you can do the same and get a bag of frozen mango and frozen bananas too. We just happened upon a great deal for fresh mangoes recently and used those instead.
Also frozen fruit has often been picked at peak ripeness, with a high nutrient density, while many fresh fruits and vegetables at your local grocery store were picked early and may not have had a chance to reach their highest nutrient potential.
If you’re okay with frozen fruit, grab the big bags of each of these for great prices.
As far as blenders go, you really need a high powered blender for this treat to be deliciously smooth.
It feels like I’m totally splurging when I enjoy this, but no guilt is necessary.
There’s no weird chemical additives; nothing but whole fruits and the nutrients that they each provide and loads of flavor.
