Resources I Love
As you progress on your health journey, be sure to consider some of my favorite resources that I’ve linked below and will be updating the list and sections in the near future. I’m always experimenting with new brands and products, so this list will probably never be exhaustive, but it should give you a good selection to spur ideas and possibilities in your health journey.
Many from this selection are affiliate links, which means I can receive a small payment if you buy.
When grocery shopping, I usually comparison shop locally and online across multiple sources and often buy in bulk (when appropriate) to save money.
Food, Herbs, Oils, and More
When shopping, these are some of the great resources I choose for my favorite items:
Favorite Kitchen Gadgets
Good tools in your kitchen can make for an easy and faster time making delicious meals, so here are some of my favorites.
Vitamix – We’ve used our Vitamix 5200 every day since it arrived roughly 12 years ago, except for about 10 days for a needed repair. It is the workhorse in my kitchen that we’ve used for smoothies, nut butters, sauces and dips, hummus, nut milks, dressings, mayonnaise, grain milling, soap making, and much more. It was a expensive purchase but absolutely worth it in our household.
Omega Masticating Juicer – When we began juicing to increase nutrient loads, we chose the Omega Masticating Juicer because it was very highly rated, and particularly because masticating juicer are able to pull more juice from the fruits and vegetables (and particularly greens)
L’Equip Filter Pro Dehydrator – Our L’Equip Filter Pro Dehydrator was one of our first health-oriented small appliance purchases, and it’s still going strong.
Food Saver Vacuum Sealer – We’ve only had our Food Saver for a few years, and, Wow, has it saved us $$ by preserving food in both bag, as well as in our mason jars, using Food Saver attachments.
Replace plastic with glass, ceramic, cast iron, and stainless steel as much as possible in your home. Some of my favorite brands are:
- Le Creuset – I have both Le Creuset stainless steel and cast iron selections and have found that Le Creuset offerings have been consistently perfect for my cooking and preferences
- Pyrex – With a big variety for storage, baking, and more, Pyrex is all over my kitchen
Favorite Options for Gluten Free, Dairy Free, and More
There are some great alternatives to products you may have been choosing in the past. Here are some of my preferences that I either get at my nearby grocery store or online:
- Jovial Pasta is my preferred gluten free pasta selection,
- Siete is my favorite brand for store-bought tortillas
- Coconut Secrets is my favorite for Coconut Aminos as a great replacement for soy sauce and a common marinade and sauce ingredient
- Wildly Organic Coconut Oil is one of my favorite coconut oil sources, but they’ve got other great products too
